PLEASE NOTE: This listing is for a fountain pen restoration service, not the purchase of a fountain pen. You will be sending your own fountain pen to Antique Digger for professional restoration.
This service covers the restoration of one Sheaffer Touchdown, Sheaffer Snorkel, or Sheaffer Pen For Men (PFM) fountain pen.
These innovative filling systems are hallmarks of Sheaffer's golden age of fountain pen design. With their distinctive engineering and exceptional writing characteristics, they remain favorites among vintage fountain pen collectors. Proper restoration requires careful attention to the filling mechanism, seals, and internal components to help ensure dependable operation.
What This Restoration Service Includes
I will restore your Sheaffer Touchdown, Snorkel, or PFM fountain pen with the goal of returning it to proper working order. The service includes installation of a new ink sac and O-ring, replacement of the snorkel point gasket when required, lubrication of the pump shaft, thorough cleaning of the pen, and cleaning and adjustment of the nib.
Following restoration, I will test the filling mechanism and writing performance to help ensure the pen is functioning as intended.
My goal is to preserve the original character of your vintage Sheaffer while bringing its filling system and writing performance back to reliable working condition.
Replacement Parts & Additional Repairs
The listed restoration price does not include replacement parts beyond those specified in the service description or additional repairs that may be necessary.
If I discover broken, damaged, or missing components that require additional parts or labor, I will contact you before proceeding. When suitable replacement parts are available, I will explain the additional costs so you can decide whether you wish to move forward.
No additional repair work will be performed without your approval.
Important Notice Regarding Vintage Fountain Pens
Vintage fountain pens are often several decades old. Although I take great care when handling and restoring these writing instruments, age can make their materials fragile and unpredictable. Celluloid, hard rubber, plastics, and other vintage materials may become brittle or weakened over time.
Antique Digger cannot guarantee that every aged component will withstand the restoration process. Cracks, breakage, discoloration, or fading may occur when working with fragile vintage materials, even when reasonable care is exercised.
If your pen breaks during restoration and cannot reasonably be returned to working condition, I will return the pen to you and refund the restoration-service payment, less applicable shipping costs.
Return Shipping & Insurance
If you would like your restored fountain pen insured during return shipping, please email me with your requested insurance amount. I will calculate the additional cost and provide an invoice for the added shipping and insurance charges.
Please package your pen securely when sending it to Antique Digger to minimize the risk of damage during transit.
