Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Rare Circa 1925 Conklin Senior Endura Red Hard Rubber Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB and feed. I have hand cleaned the outside and inside of the cap and barrel with mineral oil. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new sac. Hand polished the Conklin Gold Filled Clip, Smooth Cap Banding, and 14K Conklin Endura NIB. I have cleaned, lightly buffed, and polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the red hard rubber of this fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in great condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The red hard rubber color on this pen is excellent and displays consistent color from the cap to the barrel. The Red Hard Rubber Sr. Conklin Endura's are extremely scarce and are coveted by collectors. The cap has the Gold Filled Conklin PAT May 28, 1918, Clip with the Smooth Gold Filled Cap Banding. The clip displays some minor wear. The cap banding displays only minor spots on the edge that display light wear. The barrel is stamped, albeit lightly, with, "Trade CONKLIN Mark TOLEDO OHIO U.S.A. ENDURA". The lever filler is stamped with "PAT NOV. 17, 1925". The section is black and fits securely - I have seen this type of pen have mottled red and black hard rubber and red hard rubber sections as well that are considered proper. This Conklin Endura is a Senior size that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 7/8" posted.

This Conklin has a Lever Filler filling system. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The Filling System works great and operates as it was intended to.

This Conklin has the Sr. Endura size 14K Conklin Nib. The actual iridium tip on this Endura Nib has a fine/medium point measuring roughly .59mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to a medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided in this listing, the fine line measures at .50mm on the horizontal strokes and measures a medium .74mm line on all downward strokes with medium pressure when I measured with digital calipers. This Nib is very rigid but writes smoothly. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample also used Parker Quink Blue Ink by dipping the NIB ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is one of those vintage Conklin Senior Endura Fountain Pens you don't always get a chance to secure in your collection. Conklin Red Hard Rubber is very scarce and should be a deserving collection. This Senior Conklin is ready to write if you choose to do so, or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
