Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Circa 1934 Conklin All American Fountain Pen in the Green and Black Candy Stripe Celluloid, cataloged as "Green Etched". This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Hand cleaned the inside and outside of the cap and barrel. Hand polished the Gold Filled Rocker Clip, 2-Ring Cap Banding and 14K All American NIB. The Rocker Clip displays no wear and polished to shine brightly. The gold-filled 2-ring cap banding displays no wear and has been polished to shine brightly. The lever arm is also free from any wear and polished. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Conklin All American measures 5" capped and 6 1/8" posted.

The fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap and barrel have amazing, vibrant green coloring with no darkening of the celluloid. COLLECTOR ALERT: The barrel transparency is Water Clear. The barrel is stamped with, "ALL-AMERICAN A PRODUCT OF CONKLIN TOLEDO, OHIO U.S.A." There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This Conklin All-American is a lever fill with the filling system restored with a new sac. The filling system works flawlessly and as it was originally intended to.

The 14K All American NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .54mm when measured with digital calipers. In the writing sample provided, the nib writes with a medium line measuring roughly .60mm light pressure and will flex to a broad line which measures roughly 1.17mm with firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample in this listing was completed with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This Conklin All-American Fountain Pen is an extremely desirable and difficult model to find with the Candy Stripe pattern. This example is collector grade and in what I would consider Near Mint condition. The imprints are strong, the color is vibrant, working filling system, with great gold filled trim - everything a collector wants in this type of model. I would consider this a collector grade V Line/Herringbone Conklin that should be cherished in a deserving collection.
