Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this exclusive Never Inked, Mint in the Box, 2000 Montblanc Patron of the Arts Karl der Grosse Fountain Pen Limited Edition 227 of 888. This pen comes with the original inner and outer boxes along with the Montblanc Service Certificate/Documentation. This Montblanc is a solid 18K white gold Fountain Pen and has never been inked. It is considered in New Old Stock, Mint Condition!

NOTE: The Montblanc 888 series for Karl der Grosse fountain pen is crafted from faceted 18K white gold with a gentle spiral twist, the clip and cap band are surmounted with Tsavorite Garnets. These are very exclusive Montblanc writing instruments that many collectors will never have a chance to own due to only 888 pieces being ever made.

Limited edition of the “Patrons of Art” collection (Les Mécènes) sold in 2000 in 888 copies paying homage to the Carolingian king, Charlemagne *, one of the greatest rulers of the High Middle Ages (742-814).

The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, dings, dents, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The gentle spiral twist on the cap and barrel are magnificent works of craftmanship. The entire fountain pen shines brilliantly. This Montblanc is a limited edition number, "227 of 888" and is imprinted on the cap. The 18K solid gold barrel is stamped with, " 750, StØD, 750Balance/Scale, and Bear's Head". The fountain pen measures 5 5/8" capped and 6 3/8" posted.

This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system, I have tested it with water and works as it was designed to. It is in perfect working order and does so very smoothly. This pen has never seen ink and is considered in Mint, New Old Stock condition.

This fountain pen comes with a Broad nib in 18K two-tone gold, engraved with the imperial monogram of Charlemagne as well as elements of medieval decorations. The nib is stamped with, "2000, 4810, 18K 750 MONTBLANC". The nib point (iridium) measures .92mm when measured with digital calipers. To preserve its pristine condition, I refrained from using ink on the pen, ensuring that the next owner will receive an exceptional writing experience.

This Montblanc comes in the original Montblanc wooden black lacquered box, outer storage factory box, and Limited Edition/Service Booklet.

This Montblanc Patron of the Arts Karl der Grosse Fountain Pen is a truly spectacular and refined writing tool, skillfully created and designed in Germany. It is in impeccable condition, having never been used with ink, and would make a fantastic addition to any writing collection. I would classify this Montblanc Grosse Fountain Pen as being in pristine, mint, never inked, and new old stock condition.
