Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked Limited Edition Montblanc The Prince Regent Fountain Pen from the 1995 Patron of the Art Series. This particular pen is limited edition number 618 out of 4810. This pen comes with the original boxes, Montblanc Literature, and International Service Certificate. This fountain pen has never been inked, is considered New Old Stock, and is in Mint Condition fitted with an 18K (.85mm) medium nib.

NOTE: Introducing The Patron of Art Edition, The Prince Regent fountain pen, a luxurious tribute to the British monarch's passion for the arts. This exquisite writing instrument features a majestic look, highlighted by a breathtaking fretwork design gracing its deep blue precious resin body, enveloped in Vermeil 925 sterling silver. The cap showcases a delicate crown, evoking the meticulous artistry of bygone royal craftsmen of the Regency period (1811 to 1820).

The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, dings, dents, wear, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The vermeil sterling silver overlay is excellent and has been polished to shine brightly. The cap is stamped on the left side with, "MONTBLANC GERMANY 0618/4810, 925, StØD, and sterling balance scale and the duck hallmarks". The fountain pen measures 5 5/8" capped and 6 3/8" posted. This is a Limited Edition Montblanc with a production number of 618 out of 4810. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system and I have tested it with water and works as it was designed to. I cleaned the inside of the barrel and greased the piston for smooth operation. The piston filler is the brass type, not plastic. There were never any signs of ink inside the barrel or on the nib and this is how I came to the conclusion this fountain pen was never inked.

This fountain pen features an 18K medium nib. The nib is decorated with a fine engraving of the insignia of the British monarchy in the Regency period. The nib is stamped "4810, 18K/750, Montblanc Logo, 1995, and MONTBLANC" and is considered a MEDIUM point, measuring .85mm with digital calipers. I never inked the pen only to keep it in New Old Stock, Mint, Never Inked Condition for the new collector.

Accompanying this fountain pen are the original wooden Montblanc lacquered box, Montblanc outer factory boxes, Montblanc International Service Certificate Literature/Booklet, and the plastic sleeve the pen is in.

Despite various periods of turmoil during his reign, King George IV of Britain, with his appreciation for the fine arts, managed to shape British culture to his taste. His influence is still visible today. Because of the monarch’s penchant for culture, art forms from the period of his reign are known as those of the “Regency Period”.

This Fountain Pen from Montblanc, paying homage to The Prince Regent, is a spectacular writing instrument that was crafted in Germany. The fountain pen has never been inked and displays no wear. I consider this fountain pen in New Old Stock, Never Inked, Mint condition. This will be a fabulous writer for someone who appreciates the Patron of the Art collection and loves the feel of sterling in the hand.
