Description

For your consideration we are offering for sale this Restored 1943 Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Jet Black Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold FIlled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding and 14K Split Arrow NIB. Buffed and Polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and shine of fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size which measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 5 15/16" posted. The color is gorgeous on this pen - a classic jet black that just shines.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cap has the split arrow Gold Filled Blue Diamond clip and Chevron Cap Band with no plating loss. The top jewel is black and has been polished for a wonderful shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 3 in the 4th quarter". There are no monograms or personalizations on the barrel. The transparency of the barrel is excellent with mild ambering - an individual can easily see through the barrel. The blind cap securely fits. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 to 8 presses to fill completely full.

The Parker NIB is a 14K split arrow NIB. The iridium is great and creates an excellent writing experience, in my opinion. The 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly 0.63mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample the NIB writes with a fine to a broad stroke line. With the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .48mm and the broad line measured with digital calipers is 1.05mm with medium pressure. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. Also, the writing sample provided was completed by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Black Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a fantastic vintage example of the Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in Jet Black Celluloid. I would grade this Parker Vac at Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
