Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Circa 1990s Waterman Phileas Fountain Pen in the Blue Marble pattern. This fountain pen shows no signs of ever being inked and considered in New Old Stock, Mint, Uninked Condition!

A bit of history, Waterman Phileas is named after Phileas Fogg, Jules Verne’s “Around the World in 80 Days” protagonist. The Waterman Phileas Fountain Pen is discontinued today but its design and style still grabs the attention of the finest writing instrument connoisseurs. The pen has never been inked and I consider it to be in New Old Stock, Never Inked, Mint Condition.

The gold plated Waterman clip carries the Waterman hexagon seal and flows from the top of the cap to the cap band. The black crown on the cap contrasts with the gold-plated ring around the end of the barrel which resembles an engraved cigar band. The barrel and cap are gorgeous with beautiful blue & black marbled colors, polished with a high shine. There are absolutely no nicks, chips, cracks, or repairs to this fountain pen. The cap and barrel are excellent with the friction fit cap always securing tightly to the barrel. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Waterman Phileas Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" inches in length capped and 5 3/4" inches posted.

The Cap has a Gold Plated Clip and Cap Banding that displays gorgeously with the Blue and Black Marbling colors. The gold plated trim displays no wear and shines brightly. The cap lip, just below the cap banding, is stamped, "WATERMAN".

The filling system uses either an ink converter or ink cartridges. I have included an ink converter with this pen that offers a 1.04ml ink capacity. The ink converter has never seen ink and works as it should during my tests with water.

The fountain pen has a wide, two-toned gold-plated and steel nib decorated with an Art Deco styled engraving. Waterman, Paris, and M (for Medium Nib Point) are stamped on the nib face. The Waterman Fountain Pen Steel Nib has a nib point (iridium) measuring .68mm when measured with Digital Calipers. I have not wrote with this fountain pen as to keep it in New Old Stock condition for the next collector.

The blue Waterman box is in Excellent condition displaying nearly no usage.

I would consider this Waterman Phileas Fountain Pen in Mint condition, New Old Stock, in the Original Box and never inked. Waterman designed a Beautiful Art Deco style Fountain Pen for modern times and sure to be a treasured addition to one's writing arsenal collection.
