NEVER INKED 1993 MONTBLANC OCTAVIAN PATRON OF THE ART LIMITED EDITION FOUNTAIN PEN

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this New Old Stock, Never Inked 1993 Patron of the Art Series Montblanc Octavian Fountain Pen Limited Edition 229/4810. This pen comes with the original boxes, Montblanc Literature, and the original Medium nib sticker affixed to the blind cap. This fountain pen has never been inked, is considered New Old Stock, and is in Mint Condition fitted with an 18K nib.

The Patron of Art Edition Octavian fountain pen pays homage to Augustus' intricate webs of power with a captivating spider web design. The black barrel and precious resin cap are enveloped in delicate Ag 925 sterling silver threads, forming a beautiful web. The center of the web is adorned with a stylized and artistically shaped spider, while the handcrafted rhodium-coated 18K/750 Medium (M) solid gold nib engraved with a spider design. This pen is worth every penny for those who appreciate the beauty and elegance of fine writing instruments.

The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, dings, dents, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The sterling silver Octavian overlay is in perfect condition and has been polished to shine brightly. The cap is stamped below the clip with the limited edition number, "0229/4810" and the upper right side is stamped with, "Germany". The backside of the cap is stamped with, "925, StØD, Balance Scales, and duck assay hallmark". The fountain pen measures 5 5/8" capped and 6 3/8" posted. This is a Limited Edition Montblanc with a production number of 229 out of 4810. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. 

This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system that I have tested with water and works as it was designed to. The piston works as it should and smoothly. Additionally, when removing the piston and nib from the pen, there were never any traces of ink. This is how I have concluded the fountain pen has never been inked. The piston filler is the brass type, not plastic.

This fountain pen features an 18-karat two-tone medium nib. The hand-worked rhodium-plated nib is 18K gold and also bears an intricately detailed engraved spider. The nib is labeled "4810, 18K/750, MONTBLANC, and StØD" and is considered a MEDIUM point, measuring .84mm with digital calipers. I have never inked this Octavian fountain pen as to keep it in New Old Stock, Mint, Never Inked Condition for the new collector.
