Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked Limited Edition Montblanc Semiramis Fountain Pen from the 1996 Patron of the Art Series. This particular pen is limited edition number 959 out of 4810. This pen comes with the original boxes, Montblanc Literature, and International Service Certificate. This fountain pen has never been inked, is considered New Old Stock, and is in Mint Condition fitted with an 18K (.70mm) medium nib.

NOTE: Honoring the legendary Queen Semiramis who united Babylon and Assyria and created the renowned Hanging Gardens, Montblanc has crafted the Patron of Art edition Semiramis with utmost precision. Every detail of the 4810 Semiramis has been given the same level of care that was once the hallmark of the great master craftsmen of ancient Babylon. The barrel of the pen is made of black precious resin and is surrounded by intricate 18K gold-plated filigree fretwork that enhances its beauty. The Semiramis fountain pen boasts clearly structured filigree ornaments that add to its charm. The stylized flowers in red enamel provide a fascinating contrast to the black and gold background. This Montblanc is a limited edition and the number of this particular pen is "0959 of 4810".

The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The 18K gold plate filigree work is beautiful and very detailed - it has been polished to shine brightly. The fountain pen is marked with, "MONTBLANC 0959 / 4810". The fountain pen measures 5 3/4" capped and 6 5/8" posted.

This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system and I have tested it with water and works as it was designed to. I have cleaned the inside of the barrel and greased the piston for smooth operation. There were no signs of ink inside the barrel or the nib - this is how I came to the conclusion the fountain pen had never been inked.

This fountain pen features an 18-karat medium nib showing symbols of Babylonian deities. The nib is labeled "4810, 18K/750, Montblanc Logo, 1996, MONTBLANC" and is considered a MEDIUM point, measuring .70mm with digital calipers. The pen has never been used with ink to preserve its pristine condition for the next owner or collector.

This Montblanc comes in the original Montblanc wooden lacquered box, both outer boxes, and the International Service Certificate. The plastic sheath with the pen inside has been opened.

Queen Semiramis was a politically astute leader who successfully united Babylon and Assyria to create one of the most fascinating empires in ancient times. She had a passion for the fine arts and was a patron of Nabu, the tutelary deity of the scribes. During her reign, Semiramis commissioned the construction of various palaces and monuments, including the impressive Gate of Ishtar and the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon - the second Wonder of the World. To honor her legacy, every detail of the Patron of Art Edition Semiramis is crafted with the same level of precision and care that the great master craftsmen of ancient Babylon were known for.

This Fountain Pen from Montblanc, paying homage to Queen Semiramis, is a spectacular writing instrument with such fretwork detail. The fountain pen has never been inked and displays no wear. I consider this fountain pen in New Old Stock, Never Inked, Mint condition. This will be a fabulous writer for someone who appreciates the Patron of the Art collection and loves detailed craftsmanship in their fountain pens.
